The SVMA Continuing Education Committee, Council and Staff are happy to offer an in-person conference in September 2022. This is a long awaited opportunity to connect with colleagues, representatives, and exhibitors. The conference will be held September 9 & 10, 2022 at TCU Place, Saskatoon. Exhibitors & Sponsors – Registration for exhibit booths and to sponsor events during the conference will open March 15, 2022. Conference Attendees – delegate registration will open April 1, 2022 for veterinarians, veterinary technologists and students. Information will be posted on the SVMA website. The SVMA Council has decided to continue with a webinar series and virtual AGM for fall 2021. Council is aiming for a 2022 in-person conference.  Similar to last year, there are concerns for the health and safety of our members, guests, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and staff. This decision is supported by a growing recognition that large gatherings may still be prohibited this fall and was made at this time to minimize expenses that would occur if we were planning for an in-person event. On September 12, 2021, Council will also host this year’s Annual General Meeting as a virtual meeting.

Recognizing member excellence is a valued SVMA tradition.  Each year, Awards of Distinction are presented at the annual SVMA Awards Night but due to COVID restrictions we were unable to host a night this year.  Awards will be delivered to the recipients this month.  The SVMA congratulates the following deserving recipients of its 2020 Awards of Distinction; JJ Murison Distinguished Veterinarian awarded to Dr. Brian Gibbs Mentorship/Leadership awarded to Dr. Deana Schenher Meritorious Service awarded to Dr. Katherine Robinson RVT of the Year awarded to Bernice Ruf Congratulations to the recipients, a well deserved honour.  

Beginning this year, SVMA members are required to renew their annual registration through an online process. Please refer to the information sheet provided below for more details.
